Recent research show that women may get turned on by videos showing all kinds of sexual activities, including -- if I am not mistaken -- bonobos frolicking. Lesbians have been known to watch gay male porn. All of this tells me that the sexual orientation of men and women is not as fixed in stone as some believe.

And yes, as soon as trans women are recognized for having a rather fluid female sexuality, the fact that some lesbian trans women find themselves bisexual post transitioning, should come as no surprise either. Julia Serano's latest book has a good discussion of this.Jack Molayhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03629363646482611722noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2210993542438732066.post-88694920307749052692013-11-17T01:16:31.022-08:002013-11-17T01:16:31.022-08:00Wow, thank you for this posting. I enjoy a female that is attractive but not on a sexual level. More like she is a work of art. I even walk past the female clothes area at stores and wish I could go in. Everything is starting to make sense to me. Thank you very much. I just found your page and I am following it on the buzz feed thing :) ***kissesAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2210993542438732066.post-57851509369252981032013-11-12T16:14:30.488-08:002013-11-12T16:14:30.488-08:00Thanks for the comment Jack, I thought that there ...Thanks for the comment Jack, I thought that there would have been quite a lot more...

My obsession with transsexual research is fading fast as I live the life I so long wished for so my recollections cannot be taken as absolute.

The physical differences found by slicing transsexual brains was only of very small parts of a part of the brain considered to be of ancient origin, small but fairly fundamental.

The new study under MRI was able to show which parts of the brain were active during stimulus. You are right to question the stimulus used since as a lesbian I know that males with females does nothing positive for me. No doubt this will be the first of many studies now that the fundamental principle has been proved and others can work on the details. I shall quote a selection of the paper about the stimulus and how it was chosen, participants had been interviewed so I would hope that any lesbian participants would have been known, perhaps that is why not all of the original group went into the scanner.

"The participants watched 4 silent erotic (E) and 4 silent neutral (N) films (30-sec duration each) in a balanced semi-randomized order. These films (maximized for arousal and minimized for disgust in the E-films; minimized for eliciting emotion in the N-films) were randomly chosen from a database of films that were previously validated with other groups of TXs and CONs. The E-films contained scenes of male-female genital intercourse in the nude, whereas the N-films contained scenes of common male-female dialogue in regular clothing."

Humans are infinitely variable creatures but it is very encouraging to see such positive results at this early stage.

Those of us who have spent our lives as personal research subjects are not at all surprised by the results, just delighted that someone has given us strong evidence to support our case.Carolinehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02133031265351841626noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2210993542438732066.post-30260556658786070122013-11-12T08:03:49.321-08:002013-11-12T08:03:49.321-08:00I will draw Caroline's attention to this comme...I will draw Caroline's attention to this comment for you Jack, but let me remind you that what you see here relies on a paper written by others based on tests they conducted.
On the subject of the erotic movies, it might indeed be interesting to know if those researchers were showing a bias, or perhaps they simply made an assumption. I suppose, they also needed to keep their control group in mind. That might explain it.
Hallehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03847654451426257182noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2210993542438732066.post-12968142412291003002013-11-12T04:30:03.345-08:002013-11-12T04:30:03.345-08:00Given that I am convinced that there is an inborn ...Given that I am convinced that there is an inborn component to gender dysphoria, this definitely deepens my understanding of this issue.

Still, I have two questions:

Given the plasticity of the brain, how do we know that the anatomically differences reflect an inborn sex identity, as opposed to being the end effect of a more complex process involving both biological, psychological and cultural factors?

You used traditional heterosexual erotic movies. A significant proportion of trans women are lesbians. Where these excluded from the sample?

Jack Molayhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03629363646482611722noreply@blogger.com
