In case you didn't know, March 31 is Transgender Day of Visibility. As I progressed through my own transition for three years, I made it known to those who knew me (and those who didn't) that I placed a lot of importance on being a visible trans woman. Educating others and fighting ignorance was important to me, until I realized such a thing as TOO much visibility existed.
Instead of expanding on what I mean by that, Donna Rose posted a blog today on the differences between privacy versus disclosure, and I think it better examines the need for visibility AND privacy.
