Just what the FtM Doctor ordered

I would guess that at least a plurality of T-Central readers are somewhere on the male-to-female spectrum. But I would also guess that we have plenty of female-to-male readers, as well as people interested in FTM issues. We have links to some excellent blogs on that side of the playground wall.

FtM Doctor is one of them. Yes, Z is a medical doctor. I had wanted to feature his last post on different forms of testosterone, but it started to slide down the list and I just never did. But Dr. Z was kind enough to put up a really interesting new post called Become a man, or change what it means to be a woman? Sometimes the concerns of FTM people are quite different than those of MTF people, but in this case I think there is crossover. Z is talking about the difference between "what you do and what you are," and why he transitioned rather than remaining an extremely butch woman.

Don't be shy. Check it out!

Jane Fae's Blog

John is becoming Jane, so Jane is chronicling her transition over at the appropriately named "Jane Fae's Blog".
Jane is very definitely moving forward, but doing it her way and writing about it intelligently and with humorous touches along the way.
Do stop by and catch up.

Time for "The Lighter Side of Being Transgender"

Hello out there in Blogistan! It's Halle reporting from my new office (all spiffed up I must say) at T-Central. Thanks Calie for the lovely introduction. No time to waste, let’s get to a must read blog!

The lighter side of being transgender is, as I said, one of those ‘must read’ blogs. LeAnne has a wonderful writing style and a sense of humor and she writes about, well, the title says it all. Here’s a suggestion; look around for the ‘Applebee story’. Oh heck, look the whole thing over, it won’t take too long, it is well worth your time.  She is only getting started and I’m sure we are in for a treat  following her along on the lighter side.

Maintaining the Facade

So what happens when you've finally acknowledged that you're not like other "normal" people out there yet accept the reality that you can't or won't transition for whatever reason?  You might stumble onto T-Central and read the various bloggers out there who have chosen to radically alter the course of their lives by transitioning gender.  Or, you might opt to fight the good fight and do everything in your power to accept yourself while maintaining the status quo with family, work, and most importantly, yourself.

It's a life that we don't quite often read about enough.  Let's face it, the blogs you read on T-Central focus mostly on the transitioning aspects of transsexualism or the crossdressing side of, well, crossdressing.

Thanks to Calie and this POST, Halle is yet another person choosing to share her perspective of that of a non-transitioner.  At least for now, right?  Kidding aside, I think it's high time we see and read about those in what might be the silent majority who might not otherwise share their story for fear of being judged, outed, or silenced.  We all deserve a voice, even those who don't follow the same path others take.

Halle's blog "Maintaining the Facade" can be found HERE.

Oh, and thanks for the awesome words about me, Calie.  You'll always be family to me.

A Ray of Sunshine

Dana writes in her most recent post about an encounter with an old friend that turned out quite positive.  Her retelling of the story is touching as you read along, so please do so and don't forget to comment afterward!

The Doc Is In

Our own Dr. Morbius writes a very interesting and compelling blog today called "Identities."  Thinking through her post at length, I've decided not to give any opinion for the sake of only directing you there to form your own.

What are you waiting for?

Common Teri's Commentary

Ever since I began my first steps to transition, my friend Teri had a blog on Yahoo 360 where she would write her unadulterated thoughts about transition, life, and the new challenges of living as a woman.  She left the blog world for a few months recently but has returned with a new blog and new input.  Her most recent posts already prove she's back in true form sharing her heart and chronicling her life in a real and sensitive way.

Please head over to her site and become a follower.  It's definitely worth it!

Cammie's Song: Out of Love For Her Child

I don't think that any personal story I've recently read has moved me more than that of Cameron's Song, a blog written by the mother who, out of love and understanding, is allowing her daughter ( born male ) the freedom to transition. I initially began to reminisce of my own painful gender dysphoria from around age five, and I wondered how different my life would have been had I been allowed to transition at an early age. I've learned to accept my past and have come to appreciate the many wonderful things in my life because of it, including having children.

The author of Cameron's Song (also known as Cammie's Song) is intelligent, knowledgeable, and most of all, she articulates her compassionate heart for her daughter as they take on all the issues revolving around a transgender child. I will be following this story closely, I hope you do too.

A Daydreamer Among Us

Over on Wordpress, I stumbled upon Adrienne Morgan Leigh's blog (READ IT HERE or navigate to http://daydreamer37.wordpress.com/ ). Adrienne seems ready to continue the chronicles of her transition, and I appreciate anyone willing to share another simple yet incredibly personal journey with the rest of the world.

Head on over the Adrienne's blog and decide for yourself. She's also been added to the T-Central list below in case you miss a blog or two!

Amber Begins the RLE!

Wow. Amber begins her true real life experience. Only NOW are we made aware of this! Tsk tsk tsk, Amber! You should have told us sooner! LOL! Kidding, kidding, of course.

Anyway, I've known Amber for as long as I've been transitioning, and she has steadily moved forward proving and reassuring me in a way that your transition is your own, and no one should push you into doing anything you don't want to. It's your life, your timing, your choice.

Thanks for reminding me of that, Amber. And rock on.

Now go read her cool blog. READ IT HERE.

From Lori Anne to LoriAnne's World

Okay, that's not a photo of my twin and me, but I bet it made you look!

I did, however, just finish reading about the "week of incomparable lows and stratospheric highs" that my friend of same name and similar life LoriAnne experienced. LoriAnne continues to write about life in transition, this time as she is about to step into the corporate world as her true self. Her writing style is another that I eagerly covet, her ability to accurately express the ranging emotions of the highs and lows in our transtion rollercoaster ride.

Follow along and give her your best wishes as she takes yet another major hurdle within the next two weeks! You can read her blog (HERE).

Teri, Debbie, Dee, and Allison

Today over on CommonTeri's blog, Teri opens up about her successful day performing at the recent Fresno talent show and the positive review she received from online Gay Fresno. Her point is that we should interact with the world and let them see our talents so that they come to know us for who we are.

Over on Debbie's Life, she ventures into the realm of podcasting as she prepares to travel for her own surgery. I haven't had a chance to give it a full listen, but give Deb your support as she documents one of the biggest moments in her life. She's got a great voice too! As Lucy heals from her own surgery, we wish you luck Debbie!

Dee of Dee's Tales continues to write about the vivid emotions she experiences about the necessity of blogging to help sort through her many thoughts. I like Dee's writing a lot, I think you will too.

And last but certainly not least, I found a new friend in the gorgeous Allison Mackenzie. After reading her most recent blogs, I found myself going back reading her previous writings, and I was hooked. Allison has done a marvelous job chronicling the highs and lows of transition, and I think her wordpress journal is as good as it gets. She faces FFS (pun intended) within a couple of weeks. Her page says "Just another Wordpress blog," but there's much more to it than that.

Too much to read and too little time to do it in. Toodles!

Time to Divide T-Central?

I wanted to thank all those who subscribe and follow the T-Central trans and glb related blogroll. As you can see, the number of transgender bloggers here on this page is quickly growing, and I think it might be time to add new categories, but I need your opinion!

What do you think? While they'd all stay on this main page, I'd like to see separate categories for the following blog types: Spouses and Significant Others who blog about the transition they face with their partners, blogs specifically about crossdressing or crossdressers, those who also do video blogs, religious-themed blogs, political themed blogs, personal transition, etc.

You tell me... should we add new categories or leave this as is with the ever expanding list of personal blogs written by Tgbl writers? These inquiring minds want to know!
